Home Spray Tan
Although salon tanning is the most popular, home spray tan makes a good and viable choice for less money. The price of a tanning session divides the users' opinions regarding the two main options available: machine tanning or do-it-yourself tanning. But, we'll only discuss the tanning option available for home use.
The skin preparation is very important for the application of the home spray tan. You should shower, exfoliate the skin, shave and dry without applying any moisturizer whatsoever. Why so much insistance on exfoliation? Well, only the superficial dead skin layer at the surface of the skin is exposed to the action of the coloring agents, the thinner this is, the longer the tan will resist without wearing off. The home spray tan option involves a selection from a wide range of products belonging to different brand names.
No-name products will always be cheaper, that is a fact, but the decision is up to the buyer whether to go for quality or for price advantages. The difference between different tan sprays is the bronze look and the quality of the spread. Then, an important aspect that you should bear in mind is that color builds in time, at least for the first application. Do not use too much active substance from the very beginning, the first tan will hence be a gentle brown.
After the application of the home spray tan, allow it to dry before getting dressed and avoid contact with water for the next five hours. Do not apply the home spray tan before going to the gym for instance, because perspiration causes color streaks. The skin dryness thus influences the quality of the color. If you want to make the tan last longer, use warm water and mild soap when showering. Then, rubbing the skin too vigurously with the towel will also cause exfoliation and cause the color to wear off.
The use of home spray tan also requires wearing only loose clothing for the first day after the tanning. You'll also see that for the first showers, the hands, the joints and the face will give away more color. Moreover, for darker skin blotches, you can reduce the tan intensity with some lemon juice rubbed into the skin.
